Prep time: 30-40 min

1)Raw Ginger- the size of your palm

2)Bundle of Rosemary- make a circle with your pointer finger and thumb, that should be the size of your bundle

3)Epsom salt -I don’t follow directions on the bag and use 4-5 cups for this detox bath.

  • if using city water, I add 1/4 cup of baking soda to the bath directly.

  • if I am feeling the need for an extra deep physical detox sometimes, I will add a small handful of bentonite clay.

Ingredients

Directions for prepping Herbs

Fill One or two large soup pots and place on the stove at medium-high heat. (I use two because I like to add as much hot hot water to my bath as possible to create a hot tub feel.

  • Wah Rosemary then add to large soup pots, cover, and bring it to simmer.

  • Wash Ginger, cut into small chunks, then bring to a simmer in a separate small pot with 4-5 cups of water. Bring to a Boil then reduce to a simmer. Use a lid and continue to simmer/boil down to 2.5 ish cups of ginger water.

*Keep an eye on your herbs. the fiber can really boil hard but the rose Mary you want to keep at a simmer.

*when rosemary water is yellow/pink brownish and smells good it is done.

* Getting the herbs ready usually takes me about 40 minutes. I keep an eye on them and when I know they’re getting close to done I will start my bathwater I use only hot water prefer to have the bathwater too hot and have to add a little cold water than the other way around. When it comes to a detox bath, I like to create a sauna/steam-type environment. Heat is the key to transformation and is what we need both physically and energetically to help the body detox.

*Use a heater in the bathroom to get the air warm\hot depending on preference. but creating a warm putter environment will create a sauna feel and help keep the water hot

Creating Your Bath Portal

1. The very first thing I do, when I am getting ready to draw, my bathwater, is make sure I have a small heater plugged in and on high. This is not for everybody you do not need this extra element of heat for the detox bath, the ginger, the salt, the baking soda, and clay. All of these are detoxing elements and plants and will do plenty of a good job on their own. That being said, I like to turn these baths into a portal into my inner world in the universe that lies within there for me. He is a huge part of the transformation, so I like to activate that element by turning my bathroom into a sauna.

2. While the bath is beginning to fill up and the heat, beginning to come in, I like my candles, or turn on my mood lighting. At this time, I say a prayer to the sun into the element of fire and ask for its help to transform anything that comes up physically or energetically. Next, I turn off the lights and tap into my breath when I can source energy running through my body, one by one light my smudges and say a prayer calling to the spirit and the friends that live within each earth asking for their assistance in alignment with the gifts they offer I encourage you to find your own prayers for this Appling medicines to your life

3. Usually by this point it is a perfect time for me to strain and add my herbs from the stove of course timing and paying attention to all the things but If you are focused fully while prepping the herbs in the bath, it usually works out perfectly. So you can strain your rosemary and ginger water and then add it to the bath. (I do not like having to clean out the bath afterward with flowers and herbs in it, so I always strain my water) At this time you can also add the Epson salt if you have not already and the baking soda and the clay if you’re preferring to.

4. now it is time for you to enter the bath. I usually put both my feet in and before sitting down, I address the water I send a prayer to the water for its healing and I honor and send many thanks for the way that it carries life no matter what burdens we place on it, I pray to the water in my body and I asked that it open. I pray to the herbs that are in the bath and I let them know that my body my mind and my spirit are open to their medicine.
